The Challenge

With the explosion of website design agencies over the past few years (and particularly during COVID lockdowns), the online marketplace for businesses looking to upgrade their website is flooded with new arrivals and big promises.

The result has also seen a “race to the bottom” in terms of price but also (sadly) service delivery.

Building a new website is an extensive project that requires expertise across a range of disciplines, and most new agencies clamouring for business are quick to make promises they eventually can’t keep.

In the midst of this competition, Five by Five has patiently cultivated its expertise and premium service offering, while steadily growing through a strong referral base and new leads through its own SEO efforts. Poised for expansion, Five by Five approached GRAVITATE Digital for support in accelerating its growth curve and national reach through paid advertising.

With a premium service offering, Five by Five was focused on attracting quality businesses and organisations that wanted to work with an established and leading agency to upgrade their existing website.

The Strategy

Our initial focus was to assist Five by Five by refining their Google Analytics data and Google Tag Manager conversion tracking. They understood the importance of maintaining a clean data pipeline so we could be sure that all growth was measurable and that new customer leads could be attributed to the right source. 

We progressed into building out a range of Google Ads across both Search, Video and Cross-Network platforms, with a particular focus on South-East Queensland. Over time as these campaigns developed traction we expanded to a full suite of ads targeting the Eastern seaboard of Australia.

Simultaneously, to compliment these “bottom of funnel” ads, we rolled out a range of brand awareness and video view ads across Meta in order to build their national presence and email marketing list. A range of free resources were offered, which continue to be updated and refreshed as they reach their natural fatigue points.

The Outcome

The result of our work together is that our ad targeting has become extremely refined for the best-converting enquiries. This means fewer “tire kickers”, a more refined and high-converting sales process, and a strong awareness of where marketing budget is most likely to generate results.


With slick, evergreen, top-of-funnel feeder campaigns running on Meta for brand awareness, and highly relevant ads on Google for the most genuine of enquiries, we’ve constructed an inbound marketing funnel that generates business 24/7 on repeat. With time our results only continue to improve, as we’re expanding our reach into larger markets and constantly testing new creative.
